How we do

Spread the Word

Spread the Word

Say hello and start a conversation. Every business has to engage with its customers. Understanding your requirements enables us to print the material that helps you communicate with your audience and achieve maximum results.

Let's start with the end result. See below for a few examples of what we offer with our print and finishing services.

Raise the level of your print

We print in four colour process, Pantones and monochrome on our presses. But we can also raise the level of your print ... 'literally' ... by offering the option of dimensional print. Our dimensional print will ensure selected areas of the printed piece stand out, giving the print extra impact.

Your customers are all different. Each customer is special to you, right? Then let them know it by targeting each printed piece to that customer's requirements. We can vary text and images specifically for each customer.

Our presses are used for a wide range of communications: business cards, flyers, books, menus, invitations, greeting cards, brochures, wedding stationery, photo books, Save the Day cards, and calendars to name a few.

Go large!

We have wide format printers that print in 11 colours as well as white and metallic silver.

Our wide format printers are used for posters, banners, roller banners, various exhibition work, and wall art including floating frames and canvas gallery wraps.

Promote yourself

If you want something for an exhibition or special occasion we can print on mugs, coasters, place mats, mouse mats, wooden jigsaws and T-shirts. We can even print on magnetic paper! Make it special.

Finish it off

Printing finishes with the finishing. We finish most jobs in-house, which benefits you by providing a quicker turn round time in completing the job. Our in-house finishing includes trimming, folding, laminating, high-gloss coatings, spot UV coatings, booklet making, book manufacturing with PUR bindings (the sort that doesn't fall apart), and wiro-binding. But we are not Superman. We do outsource some work such as die-cutting to third parties.

Let's talk

You talk and we listen. Then we can advise you how to achieve the maximum effect with your project. And we do it in plain English so you don't need to worry about being confused with technical jargon. Unless that is what you want of course...

Hit the target

Hit the target

We believe in effective communication to get maximum results. Print communication in general is a very efficient way to reach your customers. But targeted print communication will achieve even better results. We can offer both methods dependent on your target audience.

See below for a few examples of our marketing services.

Traditional print

There is no right or wrong way. It depends on the type of product or service you are marketing and what you know about your customers.

The traditional way of promoting yourself to your target audience is to send the same printed piece to each of your customers or prospective customers. This is an effective and standard way of doing it. It is a perfectly good method in many cases and we provide this service for many of our clients. But it can be wasteful. Why? Because each customer is receiving the same information regardless of the fact that each of them may well have different requirements and tastes. A product/colour that is relevant to one individual may have no relevance or interest to another.

Targeted print

If you know something about your customers preferences, eg what products interest them or which colours they like, then each printed piece can be tailored to each individual's specific interests. We can print each piece differently; where text and images match each individual's known interests. This is, of course, totally dependent on you holding this data in the first place but it is proven to increase response rates over traditional methods.

It can also save cost and produce less waste as well as making the recipient feel as if you are communicating with him/her as an individual. A simple example is a product catalogue. A targeted catalogue could be 8 pages of specific interest instead of 24 pages showcasing all your products, many of which may be totally irrelevant to that person.

Cross-media

Some products and promotional campaigns are better served with a full cross-media campaign. In simple terms this uses print, email and the web to achieve the result, but all of it is personalised.

We can advise.

What do you send?

Vary what you mail out to your customers. It is surprising what can be offered. And what can be achieved.

Let's have a conversation

You talk and we listen. Once we know what you want to achieve we can advise on the best way of achieving it and the various options available.

Design can transform a printed piece. Our graphic designers have many years of experience in understanding and translating our clients requirements into a good-looking and effective printed piece. But you won't hurt their feelings if you design it yourself!

See below for details of our normal design process

The design process

These are the things to consider if you want our design team to design your project for you.

  • Requesting graphic design work can seem daunting to customers with no experience of it. Don't worry, we make it an easy and enjoyable experience for you!
  • A design brief is always a good place to start. However discussing what is required with one of our graphics designers can often be more productive as it allows ideas to bounce back and forth and expand on what may start as a limited idea.
  • Our design studio uses the latest software to enable them to create good designs suitable for print or web.
  • We realise cost matters but please be aware design is charged on a time basis. A simple flyer will clearly cost less than a complex multi-page design because of the time involved. We will always give an upfront estimate of the likely cost based on our understanding of what is required.
  • Proofs are chargeable and their cost is dependent on what format they take, ie press proofs etc.
  • We emphasise cost not because design will necessarily be expensive but because we believe in being open and honest with our customers. Having a budget at the outset is really the best way to proceed.
Your own design

It is perfectly ok with us if you want to do the graphic design yourself. It is however important that any artwork you supply is print ready and conforms to our standard guidelines, click here. Please contact us if you have any queries about artwork submission. Our advice is free.

We prefer print ready artwork in PDF format. This will ensure that the job prints correctly and avoids any costs in fixing problems. We always advise the client if there are any problems and you have the choice of making corrections yourself or asking us to do it.

Let's discuss

You tell us what you want and we can discuss it with you. Our advice is free. If you decide you want us to work on a project then an estimate will be provided for your approval before any work is started.
